Highway 200 named for fallen officers

The law names all of State Highway 200, from Minnesota to Montana, as the North Dakota fallen peace officers memorial highway. The Department of Transportation must place signs along the route. The Department must consult with families and colleagues of North Dakota peace officers and canine officers killed in the line of duty. It can set up to one mile of Highway 200 to honor each individual. The Department can accept donated signs or money for these signs. Donated money stays available on a continuing basis to pay for the memorial signs.
