New license and seal rules for big game

To hunt big game, you must have the right big game license and a locking seal with the same number. The seal is issued with the license. You may not hunt, kill, take, or try to take big game without both. Each violation counts as a separate offense.

Youth deer and antelope hunting rules

You cannot get a big game license unless you turn 14 in the same year as the season. This age limit does not apply to bow-and-arrow licenses. If you turn 11, 12, or 13 in the same year as the youth deer season, you receive a statewide white-tailed antlerless deer permit or another antlerless permit set by the governor’s proclamation for that season. If you turn 12 or 13 in the same year as the antelope season, you can apply for an antelope permit for that season. A youth hunting under these rules must be with a parent, guardian, or an adult the parent or guardian authorizes. “Accompanied” means close enough for uninterrupted visual contact and unaided verbal communication.
