Winning oil and gas claimants get fees, interest

In oil and gas compensation cases, if you reject a developer’s offer and sue, the court must award your fees only when you win more than the offer. In that case, you get reasonable attorney’s fees, court costs and disbursements, and reasonable expert witness fees. You also get interest on the court award from the day drilling began until the judgment. The interest rate is the Bank of North Dakota prime rate on the judgment date.
