Patients get network dental prices after limits

If your dental plan denies care because you hit an annual, lifetime, or frequency limit, you can still pay the in‑network price. You may pay the bill yourself, but the network cannot block you from using the plan’s contracted rate. The law defines “covered services” to include care that would be paid except for a deductible, copay, coinsurance, a waiting period, or plan limits. This can lower out‑of‑pocket costs when you reach plan caps.

Dental networks can't set noncovered fees

Dental plans cannot control what dentists charge for services the plan does not cover. Plans can still set allowed prices for services that are covered. This protects dentists’ pricing for noncovered work and changes network contract terms.
