Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Easier teacher and substitute certification

Applicants for a Nebraska substitute teacher’s certificate do not need human relations training. For other applicants, the State Board can issue a temporary teaching certificate for up to two years if the training is not yet complete. You can start teaching while you finish the training under that temporary certificate. This shortens steps and lowers time and costs to begin work.

Reimbursement for education advisory work

Members of State Board advisory committees get their meeting expenses reimbursed. If a school district must hire a replacement while you attend, the Certification Fund repays that cost. Districts may excuse you from duties that conflict with committee work. The law does not list dollar amounts.
