Stricter retake rules for barber exams

If you fail the barber exam, you can take it two more times without more schooling. After a third failure, you must complete 500 hours of barber training before another try. No more than 10 hours count in one working day, and the school must be approved by the Board of Barber Examiners. If you are a barber school graduate, you can take the next exam after one failure. After a second failure, you must complete at least 500 hours within three months, no more than 10 hours per working day, before a third try.

Show skills after 250 hours

After you finish 250 hours of training, you can ask the Board to let you show your skills. If the Board approves and you show proficiency, you may skip the rest of the 500-hour course. If you are given that chance and then fail the exam, you must complete the remaining 250 hours before a fifth attempt.
