Doctors and PAs face discipline for certificate lapses

Nebraska requires doctors, osteopathic doctors, and physician assistants to follow state rules for signing birth and death certificates. If you fail to comply, the licensing board can deny, refuse renewal, limit, suspend, or revoke your license. This raises the risk to your ability to practice and earn income.

Free speech protection for doctors and PAs

Nebraska protects public and professional speech by doctors, osteopathic doctors, and physician assistants. Your license cannot be disciplined solely for an opinion shared in a public or professional forum. This protection does not apply to opinions given while treating or advising a patient.
