College aid for stepchildren of fallen officers and firefighters

The law adds stepchildren to the state’s In the Line of Duty Dependent Education benefit. You qualify if you are the stepchild of a Nebraska law enforcement officer or firefighter who was killed in the line of duty. You can be a Nebraska resident or a nonresident. The benefit helps with tuition and fees for associate or bachelor’s programs at Nebraska community colleges, state colleges, and the University of Nebraska.
