2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
The law lets you sue if someone shares or threatens to share your private intimate image without consent. You must be identifiable, the image was private, and the person knew or acted with reckless disregard. Private includes images made where you expected privacy, obtained by theft or fraud, or made or changed by a computer without consent. Computer‑generated or digitally edited images that show your body are covered, including deepfakes. Agreeing to make an image, or past sharing, does not mean you agreed to new sharing. An intimate image is a photo or video showing genitals, the anus, a post‑pubescent female nipple, or sexual acts like masturbation, oral or anal sex, sex with an object, bestiality, or semen transfer.
The law repeals the prior state sections and replaces them with the new text. This is legal cleanup and does not itself change benefits or costs.
