Equal access for teacher organizations

The law sets clear access rules for teacher groups. It uses the state’s existing definition of “certificated employee” and defines which groups qualify. School boards must give these groups access to teachers’ physical or email mailboxes when asked. Groups may share information at staff meetings and orientations, and may send a representative who is a district employee or represents one. If one group can post signs or materials in a school, all qualifying groups get the same posting access. This does not change any rights or processes under the Industrial Relations Act.
