Jewelry shops lose statutory lien

The law repeals Nebraska’s jeweler’s lien rules. Jewelry shops no longer have a state lien to hold or sell a customer’s item to secure payment. Customers may find it easier to get their jewelry back. Businesses and customers must use other laws or court processes to settle unpaid bills.
