Good behavior cuts jail time

The law reduces jail time for good behavior. Starting on day 16, you earn one day off your remaining time for each day you follow jail rules. This applies in city and county jails, including custodial sanctions for parole or probation violations. The credit reduces your total time left, including all consecutive sentences, even if added later. Days with rule violations do not earn credit.
