Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

State funds Class V service annuities

The state sends money each year to the Service Annuity Fund for Class V school employees. By July 1, it transfers enough to pay the year’s normal cost and to pay down any unfunded liability. The system administrator gives membership data to the actuary to set the payment. The law uses a level percentage-of-salary method starting July 11, 2013. This helps keep service annuity benefits funded.

Law takes effect immediately

The law declares an emergency and takes effect upon enactment. All other changes apply right away.
