Event license checks and penalties for artists

The department can inspect the Nebraska body art facility used for an event to check health and safety rules. Your event license shows your name, the approved event or location, the expiration date, the state that issued it, and your license or permit number. If you or the host facility break the rules, you face the same penalties that apply to permanent body art licenses.

Temporary event licenses for body artists

The law creates a temporary, nonrenewable event license for body artists visiting Nebraska. It lets you work up to 7 consecutive days, and you can get no more than two licenses in any 12‑month period. You must already hold a valid, unrestricted body art license or permit from another state. To apply, you submit a completed form, a government photo ID showing your age, a copy of your license, and a sponsorship letter from the Nebraska facility where you will work. You must work inside a Nebraska‑licensed body art facility that has been inspected under this law. You pay a one‑time $50 issuance fee.
