The health department can issue a standing order so agencies can buy epinephrine without individual prescriptions. The department can also set rules to run the program and training standards.
Nebraska law enforcement agencies can stock epinephrine autoinjectors and nasal epinephrine for on‑duty use. Trained officers can give epinephrine in an emergency while on duty. The health department approves the training, and officers must finish it and give their certificate to the agency before carrying or using epinephrine. Agencies cannot issue epinephrine to an officer until the officer shows that certificate. Agencies and officers are not required to take part.
