Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.

New fund for court and probation programs

Beginning July 1, 2026, the state creates the Supreme Court Operations Cash Fund. The State Court Administrator runs the fund. Money pays for court and probation programs that improve justice and community safety. The fund can take fees, grants, donations, gifts, and payments from contracts with local governments. Any investable money is invested under state investment laws.

Court-appointed special advocate fund and grants end

On July 1, 2026, the Court Appointed Special Advocate Fund ends. Any money left moves to the General Fund. The law also repeals two CASA grant sections that day. The fund’s statute fully terminates on January 1, 2027. This may reduce dedicated funding for CASA services for kids and families.

Supreme Court Reports fund ends

On July 1, 2026, the Supreme Court Reports Cash Fund ends. The State Treasurer moves any money left to the General Fund. This is an internal funding change.
