Court-appointed advocate fund ends; Act updated
The law ends the Court Appointed Special Advocate Fund on July 1, 2026. On that date, the State Treasurer transfers any balance to the General Fund. The section that created the fund ends on January 1, 2027. The Court Appointed Special Advocate Act is now cited as sections 43-3701 to 43-3718.
New court operations fund; reports fund ends
The law creates the Supreme Court Operations Cash Fund on July 1, 2026. The State Court Administrator runs the fund. Money comes from fees, grants, donations, gifts, and contract payments from local governments. Available money is invested by the state investment officer under Nebraska law. The law also ends the Supreme Court Reports Cash Fund on July 1, 2026. On that date, the State Treasurer moves any balance to the General Fund.
Older court and advocate laws repealed
The law repeals several older court and advocate statutes. Those repeals take effect July 1, 2026.
