Annual pay data from public colleges

Beginning July 1, 2026, the Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education collects salary and employer-paid benefits from every Nebraska public college and university each year. Schools must send data electronically for administrators, full-time instructional faculty, and adjunct or part-time instructional staff. The Commission sets a standard reporting format. Reports include average pay by group, rank, and institution type; employer-paid benefits totals and per-employee amounts; full-time vs. part-time status; and year-over-year percent changes. The Commission posts aggregated, searchable, downloadable data on its website and issues an annual report by December 31.

No names in published pay data

The Commission does not publish names or other personal details with pay data. Public datasets are aggregated or de-identified so no employee can be identified. This rule applies starting July 1, 2026.

Rules and timeline for pay data

The law takes effect upon enactment because of an emergency clause. The main data collection and reporting duties start July 1, 2026. The Coordinating Commission may adopt rules on formats, schedules, and submission procedures to run the program.
