Water Well Board gets a dedicated fund
Beginning January 1, 2027, New Hampshire creates a dedicated Water Well Board Fund to pay for the board’s duties. Fees, fines, and civil penalties under the water well law go directly into this fund instead of the General Fund. The board can use the money without a new annual spending approval, and unused money stays available across budget years. The state treasurer must invest the money, and all investment earnings stay in the fund.
