Family Hike Safe Cards Cover More
New Hampshire’s family Hike Safe card covers the buyer, their spouse or domestic partner, and minor children or stepchildren. This includes the domestic partner’s minor children. It also covers anyone whose appointed family guardian is the buyer, spouse, or domestic partner under state guardianship law. The law requires online sales through Fish and Game, with annual renewals, before the buyer needs search and rescue. The department sets individual and family card prices by rule, plus a transaction fee for the online license agent. Card revenue, minus that transaction fee, goes to the state’s fish and game search and rescue fund. The law takes effect 60 days after passage.
