Faster provider approvals and backdated in-network care

Health plans must treat your care as in-network starting the day your provider files a credentialing application. You pay in-network cost sharing for services you get after that filing date. Once a clean, complete application is received, plans must decide within 30 calendar days for primary care and mental health, and within 45 days for specialists. Clean and complete means it is signed and dated, includes all required information, and has satisfactory explanations for any “yes” answers about quality or competence.
