Landlords can end 6-month leases with 60-day notice
Beginning January 1, 2026, a landlord can end a tenancy when the lease term ends. This applies if the original lease is 6 months or longer, or renewals make it 6 months or more. The landlord must give you written notice at least 60 days before the end date. The notice must say the lease will not be renewed and that you must move out at the end of the term. Other eviction rules stay the same.
