Penalties for unauthorized signs and property damage
Beginning January 1, 2026, New Hampshire makes unauthorized posting of signs banning physical activity a class B misdemeanor. This applies when the poster knows they lack the legal right and has no reasonable basis to believe otherwise. The fine is $200 for a first offense and $500 for a second or later offense. Removing, defacing, or destroying another person's signs, posters, or property is also a class B misdemeanor.
