Alzheimer’s voice added to EMS board

The EMS and Trauma Board grows from 22 to 23 members. One seat goes to a representative from the Alzheimer’s Association. Members are nominated by their groups, serve three-year terms, and can serve up to nine straight years. The governor fills vacancies for unexpired terms. These changes take effect 60 days after passage.

EMS seat and dementia response study

The law adds one EMS representative to the state Alzheimer’s subcommittee. The governor appoints this member. The subcommittee now studies how police and EMS respond to people with Alzheimer’s. These changes take effect 60 days after passage.
