County and Carson City candidates must be Nevada voters

Beginning July 1, 2025, candidates and officeholders for certain local offices must be registered to vote in Nevada. This covers county commissioners, clerks, recorders, treasurers, assessors, sheriffs, district attorneys, public administrators, constables, and Carson City supervisors. If you hold one of these offices on July 1, 2025, you are exempt while in that office. Anyone who files to run after July 1, 2025 must be registered in Nevada.
