New renewal data and privacy rules for providers

Beginning January 1, 2026, health care providers who renew a Nevada license must answer an expanded set of questions. The state collects details such as license type, race and ethnicity, sex, language, specialties, practice addresses and hours, use of telehealth, patient groups served, and planned changes like retirement or relocation. The Director provides licensing boards an electronic request to gather this data at renewal. The database is confidential and not a public record. The Director publishes annual de-identified reports and shares de-identified data with the state Working Group. The Director also analyzes trends and reports on ways to grow the health workforce and improve public health. The state may adopt rules and prepare for this law upon passage.
