New renewal rules for health facility licenses

Beginning January 1, 2026, each license expires one year after it is issued, not on December 31. You must reapply each year and pay renewal fees. The Division can deny renewal if you break state facility rules, lack required Director approval for a project, or fail local zoning. For many listed providers (for example, hospitals, nursing facilities, home-based care, hospice, and group homes), the reapplication must include a statement that you follow NRS 449.115–449.125 and 449.174, and that the license holder, administrator, and employees follow NRS 449.093. For certain facilities (such as surgical centers, dialysis centers, hospice, hospitals, intermediate or skilled nursing, personal care agencies, and rural clinics), you must also pay the State Board of Health fee set under NRS 457.240, on top of regular renewal fees.
