Bilingual teachers get $2,500 yearly stipend

Beginning July 1, 2025, districts and charter schools may pay a $2,500 stipend each school year to teachers assigned to a bilingual education program. To qualify, you must hold the bilingual endorsement, or be enrolled in an approved program that leads to it and be allowed to teach in the program. You can get the stipend only once per school year. In a large district or at a charter school, the stipend is paid from your local school precinct or charter budget.

Endorsement now required to teach bilingual classes

Starting July 1, 2025, you must have a bilingual-education endorsement to teach in a bilingual program. The state commission sets the qualifications and coursework for this endorsement. Existing exceptions in NRS 391.027 still apply.
