Funding to modernize Nevada DMV systems

The law funds DMV IT upgrades starting July 1, 2025. It provides $13,780,212 in FY 2025-26 and $9,792,437 in FY 2026-27 to move an old DMV system to the cloud. It also provides $33,903,370 in FY 2025-26 and $39,687,596 in FY 2026-27 to continue DMV system modernization. The DMV can use money in either year, but any shift between years needs the Governor’s recommendation and IFC approval. No funds can be committed after June 30, 2027. No money can be spent after September 17, 2027. Any leftover must go back to the State Highway Fund by September 17, 2027.
