Funds for Nevada State University North Las Vegas

The state provides $2.5 million to the Nevada System of Higher Education for Nevada State University to support academic programming at its North Las Vegas site. Any remaining balance cannot be committed after June 30, 2027. Unspent funds cannot be spent after September 17, 2027, and must revert to the State General Fund by that date.

More funding to expand nursing programs at Nevada colleges

The state provides $10 million for 2025–26 and $10 million for 2026–27 to the Nevada System of Higher Education to expand undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. The money can pay for operating costs like faculty, staff, and equipment. It cannot pay for new buildings or other capital projects. Any balance cannot be committed after June 30 of that fiscal year. Unspent funds cannot be spent after September 18, 2026 (first year) and September 17, 2027 (second year), and must revert to the State General Fund by those dates.

Renovation funds for Western Nevada College

The state provides $1,511,999 to the Nevada System of Higher Education for Western Nevada College to renovate the Aspen Building on campus. Any remaining balance cannot be committed after June 30, 2027. Unspent funds cannot be spent after September 17, 2027, and must revert to the State General Fund by that date.

Funding starts July 1, 2025

This law takes effect on July 1, 2025. The new funding and limits in this act start on that date.
