Captive insurer funds moved to main fund

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state ends the separate account for captive insurers. The money and duties move into the Fund for Insurance Administration and Enforcement. All captive insurer fees and assessments go into this Fund, unless NRS 694C.450 says otherwise. Any money left in the old account on July 1, 2025 stays in the Fund and can be used for any purpose allowed for the Fund.

Split of captive insurer tax revenue

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state splits captive insurer tax revenue. 25% is deposited in the Fund for Insurance Administration and Enforcement. 75% goes to the State General Fund. This sets where these tax dollars go each year.
