Tribal voice added to insurance exchange board

Beginning July 1, 2025, the Board has seven voting and three nonvoting members. The Governor appoints four voting experts in areas like selling individual or small‑employer insurance; health care administration or financing; health IT; delivery systems; or consumer or advocate experience. The Governor also appoints one voting member from a federally recognized Nevada tribe with experience in tribal health care administration. The Senate Majority Leader and the Speaker each appoint one voting member. Appointers must ensure a broad mix of skills and perspectives; no more than two voting members share one expertise, and the tribal member does not count toward that cap. Voting members cannot be legislators or hold any state elected office, and the Governor must appoint the tribal member to replace the member whose term ends June 30, 2025.
