High-dose math tutoring for struggling ninth graders

The University of Oklahoma’s College of Education runs a pilot for high-dosage math tutoring. It serves the lowest-performing ninth-grade students based on the required 8th-grade state math test. The pilot operates in public high schools in districts with 30,000 or more students and in public charter schools under the Oklahoma Charter School Act. The OU Board of Regents oversees the program. The law is in force upon approval because of an emergency clause, and it also lists July 1, 2025 as the effective date.
