More exam options for funeral workers

Beginning November 1, 2025, Oklahoma funeral director and embalmer applicants can take the matching state exam instead of the national exam. The passing score is at least 75. Applicants must also meet the education, apprenticeship, and other requirements for their license and pay the required fees. Those using the alternative training paths must also score at least 75 on the Oklahoma Funeral Board law exam.

Emergency funeral license authority already expired

The Oklahoma Funeral Board had temporary licensing authority for one year beginning April 23, 2021, and ending April 23, 2022. It could issue temporary funeral director or embalmer licenses only while a Governor-declared statewide emergency remained in effect. That period ended before this law took effect on November 1, 2025, so it provides no current temporary-license option.
