More breast screening coverage for Oklahoma patients

Beginning November 1, 2025, Oklahoma health plans subject to this law must cover low-dose mammograms, diagnostic exams, and supplemental breast screening. Screening mammograms look for hidden cancer in women without symptoms and include 3D mammograms. Diagnostic exams must be medically necessary and clinically appropriate to check abnormalities found or suspected through screening, other exams, or medical or family history. Supplemental screening must be medically necessary and appropriate when no abnormality is seen or suspected but risk factors indicate higher risk. These factors include personal or family medical history and heterogeneously or extremely dense breasts. Covered exams may include contrast-enhanced mammography, breast MRI, ultrasound, or molecular breast imaging. You generally pay no deductible, copay, or coinsurance for covered exams. Qualified high-deductible plans linked to health savings accounts apply this coverage after you meet the minimum deductible, except for services that qualify as preventive care under federal law.
