Drivers avoid insurance-related vehicle and plate seizures

Oklahoma officers can no longer seize or tow vehicles, or seize license plates, under the compulsory auto insurance citation authority. The law also removes the related plate-storage and retrieval process and the $125 administrative fee. Officers must not issue an insurance citation when the online system confirms valid, current coverage and compliance. These changes took effect immediately upon passage and approval.
