More funding flexibility for Oklahoma Medicaid

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority can use the Rate Preservation Fund to maintain provider payment rates when federal Medicaid matching rates fall. With approval from the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services, it can also make temporary transfers. Transfers to other Authority funds for Medicaid cash-flow needs cannot exceed one-third of the fund’s balance in any state fiscal year. The money must return before that same fiscal year ends; otherwise, the fund’s money remains available across fiscal years. The law took effect upon passage and approval.
