More staff for rural health care

The law lets the Health Care Workforce Training Commission receive state funds, federal grants, and private gifts. It creates a Workforce Talent Recruitment Revolving Fund for money awarded under the Rural Health Transformation Program. The Commission uses this money to recruit and keep clinical staff in rural and underserved areas, following any award rules. Payments from the fund go through the State Treasurer after approval by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services. The Commission can set rules to run the program. The act takes effect immediately.
