OSSM gets $93,000 for safety upgrades
The state provides $93,000 to the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027. The money must fund a School Resource Officer program or physical security upgrades. Allowed uses include officers, cameras, gates, lighting, locks, doors, windows, security geofencing, ballistic storm shelters, and mobile panic alert systems. This is a one-time allocation for that fiscal year.
Emergency clause starts funding right away
The law declares an emergency. It takes effect as soon as it is passed and approved, not on July 1, 2026. This lets OSSM start using the $93,000 and begin safety work sooner.
