The law extends Oklahoma’s psychologist licensing board from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2028, under Oklahoma’s sunset law. The board continues to oversee psychologist licensing. It keeps seven Governor-appointed members: five licensed psychologists from different areas of psychology and two members of the public. When a physician’s term ends, the Governor must choose a successor from ten licensed psychologists listed by the Oklahoma Psychological Association. Members serve four-year terms and stay until their successors are appointed and qualified. Before starting, each member must take the constitutional oath of office and file it with the Secretary of State. The act lists July 1, 2025, as its effective date. It also includes an emergency clause making it effective upon passage and approval; that approval date is not provided.
