Oklahoma ends marriage exceptions for minors

Beginning November 1, 2026, Oklahoma limits marriage eligibility to unmarried people age 18 or older who are not otherwise disqualified. People under 18 cannot marry, even with consent from a parent, guardian, or court. The amended text also limits marriage partners to people of the opposite sex. The ban on marriages between relatives covered by the state's incest rules remains in place.
