Grants and $500K for teacher programs

The Commission can give grants to approved teacher training programs that join the pilot and hire an evaluator. Evaluators send reports to the program and the Commission. Each program must respond within 90 days with steps to improve, like new recruitment paths, on-the-job training, mastery checks, and flexible schedules for apprentices and paraprofessionals. The Commission then picks one approved program to receive $500,000 to put its plan in place, and may fund more if money allows.

New pilot to grow Oklahoma teachers

The law creates TeachForwardOK, a two-year pilot to build new teacher pathways. It starts on August 29, 2025. The Commission runs it, sets rules, and must ask for proposals within 30 days to pick technical help to review teacher training programs. By December 31, 2027, the Commission sends a final report to the Governor and legislative leaders.
