Health providers keep paying Medicaid assessments
Retroactive to June 30, 2025, Pennsylvania continues five assessments: managed care plans, hospitals, nursing facilities, intellectual disability care facilities, and statewide quality care. All five remain subject to federal law and their existing program rules. Beginning July 1, 2025, the managed care assessment's fixed fee component is $30.47. Hospital assessments continue without the expiration rule in Fiscal Code section 1603-O(a), while other requirements in that section remain. The Department of Human Services must notify the Legislative Reference Bureau for publication when each assessment expires.
