Smithfield tax credit option for paraplegia

Effective upon passage, the law lets Smithfield's town council create a property tax credit by local ordinance. The credit requires a person with paraplegia to own and live in the Smithfield property. Their paraplegia must require specially adapted housing, and the property must be changed to meet a resident's paraplegia-related needs. The town is not required to offer the credit. The law sets no credit amount, and no credit is available without a town ordinance.
