Residential youth programs separate facilities by sex

The law requires all Tennessee residential educational programs that allow minors to use residential facilities to separate multi-occupancy restrooms, changing areas, and showers by sex, as defined in state law. For K–12 students who stay overnight, the rule applies to all shared facilities in the overnight site. The policy takes effect immediately. The law does not provide funding or spell out enforcement steps.
