New hunting drone rules for wounded deer

Beginning July 1, 2025, the state can set rules for using drones to find and recover a wounded deer. The use is only for a deer that is wounded or reasonably believed wounded, and only while you are lawfully hunting. This does not allow broader drone use for hunting beyond recovering a wounded deer. The wildlife agency will issue rules and proclamations through the normal state rulemaking process.
