Private projects allowed at Cumberland Mountain park

The law allows private facility development, rebuilding, construction, and operation only on department-controlled land at Cumberland Mountain State Park. Tennessee’s environment commissioner can enter these agreements with State Building Commission approval. Agreements can include state land sales, leases, or other transfers, but each needs approval from both officials. These transfers are exempt from the usual requirements in Tennessee Code § 12-2-112. The department can supervise construction, but the law does not require any project. The authority took effect when the law was enacted.
