Clearer construction buying rules for local agencies

The law clarifies Tennessee’s cooperative purchasing rules for construction. It covers purchases for construction, engineering, architectural services, and construction materials. For this law, “construction” does not include utility system operation parts, like transformers, poles, meters, pipes, and valves. It also excludes materials, labor, and services for maintenance, operations, component replacement, or repairs of existing school or local government facilities and grounds. The law takes effect upon becoming a law.
