Local elected officials cannot hold two offices

Starting January 1, 2027, if you hold an elected local government office in Tennessee, you cannot hold any other elected office in the state at the same time. Seats on a political party’s state executive committee do not count. If you held more than one elected office on January 1, 2027, you may keep them and run again. If you later drop to one office, you cannot go back to holding two.
