The law requires your school district to tell you at least 10 calendar days before your child’s IEP team meeting. You and the district can agree to meet sooner, following state board rules. At least 48 hours before the meeting, the district must give you the evaluation report used for eligibility or planning. If a draft IEP is prepared, the district must give you the draft at least 48 hours before, unless you send written notice more than 48 hours before declining it. This law is in effect now.
