New rules for campaign door-knocking

The law is now in effect. Tennessee now treats making and using door‑knocking scripts and literature as regulated campaign activity. It applies whether done independently or with a candidate or campaign. Paying canvassers to knock on doors and read scripts, recording answers, and storing that data are included. Campaigns and groups must follow state campaign rules and keep records, which can add paperwork and cost.
